Kempinski is a luxury hotel group founded in 1897. Kempinski Hotels, the trading name for Kempinski Aktiengesellschaft, is an independent German delisted AG, which is involved in a number of hotel and hospitality related businesses, including conference, catering and hotel supplies.

Kempinski Hotels now owns and operates an international portfolio of 60 hotels. A further 43 hotels are either under final development or construction in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Asia, and Latin America. Today, Kempinski is majority owned by the Crown Property Bureau of Thailand. Kempinski is also a Member of the Global Hotel Alliance with Rydges Hotels and Wyndham Hotels & Resorts. The CEO of Kempinski is Reto Witwer from Switzerland (2006).

Kempinski Erbil Park Hotel is currently under construction, working on its 17th floor as of Oct. 5, 2007. The project is developed by turkish Elegan Group and will be managed by Kempinski Hotels & Resorts.

Rotana Hotel, is a $45 million 5-Star hotel by Malia Group, Rotana Hotels, and Iraqi investors. The project started in September 2007, and will be completed in February 2010.


Vital Village is a joint-venture housing project by ARC Construction and DOSKO Construction companies from Turkey. The houses are built through light steel construction system, and have three house models. The project is located in the same area as Empire World and English Village projects.




Type 1 - Built on 3 floors, being the biggest buildings of the project, Type 1 houses offer most comfortable living spaces for big families. With 5 bedrooms and a study room, Type 1 houses have WC units at each floor.



Type 2 - Built on 2 floors, Type 2 houses have big garden terraces, reachable from the living room and kitchen. With 3 bedrooms and a study room, Type 2 houses have the biggest kitchen spaces.



Type 3 - Built also on 2 floors, Type 3 bedrooms including parent bedroom and a study room. With a WC unit at each floor and garden terraces, Type 3 houses have the biggest usable space at the entrance.


Empire World is a $350 million multi-purpose commercial property. The project includes mid-sized office buildings to large hotels, high-luxury residential complexes, master-planned retail space, and contemporary leisure facilities on 750,000 square meters, located 3.5 km off the city center.

The project is developed by Empire Holdings, a private real estate development company that was founded in January 2006. Empire Holdings is owned by two Iraqi firms, Iraqi Consultants and Construction Bureau (ICCB) and Falcon Group.

Empire World 5-Star Hotel will be run by an international hotel company.


Erbil Speed Center is an auto racing center which is part of Empire Sports World that it will include, when completed, facilities for tennis, basketball, football, swimming, and other sports. It will also feature a separate smaller track for children where there will be age-appropriate racing cars and more safety features.


The old road signs have been replaced with brand-new ones.

the anonymous construction you mentioned here is Erbil Media Center, please note that it is nor Erbil Media City which planned to be constructed investing 400 Million $
